Effect of dietary curcuma, capsicum, and lentinus on enhancing local immunity against Eimeria acervulina infection

Historically, the severity of experimental Eimeria infection in chickens has been assessed 218 by loss of body weight gain, excretion of fecal oocysts, and the presence of intestinal lesions.

 

Today, chickens being fed on the Curcuma/Capsicum/Lentinus 39 supplemented diet showed significantly improved body weight gains compared with birds on the 40 standard diet or birds given Capsicum/Lentinus-supplemented diet following challenge infection 41 with E. acervulina.
