US dehulled soymeal for quality feed production

Dehulled soymeal is the major protein source used in poultry and swine feed around the world. It is not only the most common product because of a large production base, but it is also considered a premium product because of its high digestibility, consistency and higher energy content compared to other protein sources and non-dehulled soymeal. Virtually all of the soymeal produced in the US is dehulled and processed in large state-of-the-art solvent extraction facilities.

 

Properly processed dehulled soymeal is an excellent source of protein and amino acids for poultry, swine, aquaculture, and specialty animals including pet food.

 
Such feeds must be formulated to fit exact nutritional requirements for each stage of life. Dehulled soymeal, with its higher energy content and excellent profile of essential amino acids, is the preferred protein source.

 

An understanding of product specifications and quality control of this key ingredient is important, considering that up to 75 percent of the amino acid requirements of the above feeds may come from soymeal. The most important quality measurements are those that can be correlated with the cost of feed production and animal performance.
