In modern broiler integrations, small margins make the profit. At hatching egg production, most companies measure the results of a certain breeder flock at the egg production and hatchability, to an extend that it is correct to measure these factors, because it indicates if the birds performed well.

 

One overlooked factor is the egg quality and hygiene. Bad hatching egg quality and hygiene causes bacterial contamination of eggs, which does not only depress hatchability but also chick quality. Therefore it consequently affects profitability in broiler companies.
