A ''Macro-approach'' to understanding global environmental and agricultural practices levels

Science has progressed at an astonishing rate over the last decade. Some of the most important developments in scientific breakthrough have been in the realm of agriculture, aquaculture, biotechnology, atmospheric & oceanic science. 

 

These developments are welcomed and needed given that the world population currently stands at almost 6.8 billion people, according to the US Census Bureau. The global community needs to cultivate greater quantities of food on a shrinking surface area of cultivable land mass, with less water and less synthetic inputs.
